'Washed Out' Images

Recommended Posts

When previewing images in PTE 5.8 they appear 'washed out' but OK when previewing in PTE 4.48. Any suggestions please?

Dougall,

Have you set the opacity of the image in O&A to something less than 100%?

This problem may happens only on ATI video cards and ATI confirmed this problem after our request (ATI didn't correctly support adjusted gamma parameters in exclusive fullscreen 3D mode). They fixed this behaviour in drivers for Windows Vista and ATI promissed to release updated drivers for Windows XP later (as they said "low priority").

In beta 9 we will suggest temporal solution - you can set non exclusive fullscreen mode for your slide show. But in this mode Pan effect will not play so smooth as in exclusive fullscreen mode.

Opacity at 100%. Thanks for the suggestion

My problem exactly (and same set-up) but I differ from IDC in that I only have the 'washed out' look in PTE 5 - PTE 4.48 is fine.

Igor

Thank you for your explanation - see what happens with the full version.

If you go back to the above link - the statement made in Post #1 was corrected in Post #3

idc:

I've just verified that the problem doesn't occur if I use PTE 4.48!

Give beta 9 a try when released, as Igor states ( a temp solution )

You're right - I misread Post No.7 - "when I look over them on another(missed it!) PC"

Thanks again
