ksf
Hi everyone,I have created a show that has a camera shutter sound effect firing 12 seconds into the start. This coincides with a camera shutter effect "flashing" on the screen (technique borrowed from one of The Doms demos). The timing works perfectly when played in preview mode. The problem I have is that when I double-click on the .exe file, the "flash" image effect appears .25 of a second after the sound effect. However, if I escape from the sequence and double click the .exe again , the second and all subsequent times after that it runs perfectly in synch until I start the pc again and the problem recurs. It's got me confused as I can't fathom why it appears out of synch on the first run but perfectly in synch on subsequent runs. The other problem is that if I want to send this show to someone else or enter it into a festival than I can't be certain that it will run correctly when played for the first time.Has anyone else noticed this with any of their shows or can anyone explain why it is happening. I have not noticed this problem with any of my other shows (I created this one in 5.8u).
alrobin
Keith,I haven't noticed a difference in sync between successive runs, but there is a difference of about 1/2 to 1 sec. between the timeline preview and the regular preview (and "exe" version). LumenLux
I think I remember similar problem in years past, prior to V4.48. I think the problem was eliminated when the sound/timeline effectively locked in visual to the sound line. I suspect, the condition is again temporary as part of the V5 Beta level where we stand for now.

I have not noticed this problem with any of my other shows (I created this one in 5.8u).I think this is a current problem with Version 5. Although a number of forum members have said that they have managed shows with the correct sound/picture synch on Version 5, I certainly have had problems with the synching of commentary and sound, even though I carefully arranged everything on the timeline to be in synch in the PTE version before converting to the exe file. Also, although I finally managed to get the correct synch on my computer, when I ran the show on the club's computer, the synch went all to pot.Think it is worth waiting until the full version is available. I am sticking to Version 4.48 for the moment as most of my shows have commentaryJeff
