JEB Posted April 28, 2007 Report Posted April 28, 2007 Folks,I have recently completed a short show with Beta 10 and am like everybody else delighted with the improved PAZ, particularly the soft landings and take-off. However I have a problem, which I don’t think, has anything to do with Beta10 as I am sure I have seen it referred to in the dim and distant past.I am getting quite a lot of “shimmer” both in Pan and Zoom. I do not think I have over sharpened (my normal settings for USM in PS are:- Amount 100-150%, Radius 0.3-0.7 and Threshold 0). Images that have no PAZ have no “shimmer”.Any suggestions?RegardsJohnP.S. I will not be able to try anything out till next week as I will be away for a few days but will respond on my return. Quote
Igor Posted April 28, 2007 Report Posted April 28, 2007 John,In such cases (non-linear Panning) please use only Bicubic (not Bicubic Sharper) resizing and don't apply Unsharp mask. Maybe it's necessary even apply slight Blur filter. Quote
Adda Posted April 28, 2007 Report Posted April 28, 2007 I often use the pans. I reduce the image-size to 1080 high.In my experience, it also depends on the program. When I reduce the images with ThumbsPlus (Bicubic), I also have a shimmer/flicker.My Corel PhotoPaint 11 makes a better job. There a also can use the function smoothing, when I save the picture as JPG.If I choose 5%, there is no shimmer/flicker on panning .With best regardsAndrea Quote
