okiediver Posted May 21, 2003 Report Posted May 21, 2003 Can someone tell me the steps to sending a slideshow via email where it dosent take forever? I am new to all this, and any input would be greatly appreciated. Quote
LumenLux Posted May 21, 2003 Report Posted May 21, 2003 Hi okiediver - is your name a meaningful description of yourself? If so you can share your PTE with a couple of other divers in this forum. And the rest of us will enjoy also. One way to share your shows is to post them to Bill's generousity-motivated site: Beechbrook.comAs for emailing for private sharing - it is simple as follows:Your finished show in PTE is simply one .exe file. All you need do is in your email program, indicate you want to send an attachment. The attachment would be simply that one MyShow.exe file. (whatever your show is named.) Some email servers will reject mail with attachments that are .exe files. For that reason some forum members will send the .exe file as a zipped file (.zip) or simply change the .exe extension to .p2e. Then you need to have your recipient change the .p2e back to .exe before they can run the show.As for "where it dosent take forever" - that is purely a function of how fast your internet connection is and also the size of your PTE .exe file. Also some (most?) ISP's limit a email file to a size of say 2 mb or 5 mb. If your show is larger than that, you either need to reduce the size of your show or split the show .exe file into several smaller files that will be accepted as attachments. So, as with many things - it is simple - until it is complicated. okiediver Posted May 22, 2003 Author Report Posted May 22, 2003 Hi! Yes, I am a diver from oklahoma looking to make slide shows from all my dive pics. How do I send one to Beechbrook? Thanks! Quote
LumenLux Posted May 22, 2003 Report Posted May 22, 2003 Here are three links to different areas of Beechbrook.comhttp://beechbrook.com/upload/http://www.beechbrook.com/pte/index.asphttp://beechbrook.com/For future reference, these links can be found in the "other" section of WnSoft Forums. There in Pictures to Exe Presentations, Ken Cox keeps track of links to web sites of members of the PTE forums. Lot of really helpful people around here. When you visit Beechbrook, you can register to be notified whenever a new PTE show is posted there. I think there are currently dive shows from a couple of PTE users. You can add yours too. I am curious whether you do your diving in Oklahoma? Cave diving perhaps? Quote
