tpe Posted June 24, 2007 Report Posted June 24, 2007 I must be missing something but I cant seem to find an easy way to make multiple copies of a DVD. The software I have used up till now has a "Make another? Yes/No" option and after all the number crunching involved in the first copy, subsequent ones only take about 10 mins. Am I missing something really obvious?Dave Quote
stonemason Posted June 24, 2007 Report Posted June 24, 2007 Hi Dave and welcome to the forumThe best way to make multiple copies is to select "create DVD folders" and /or "create ISO image" in the last but one screen of the DVD builder then use Nero or whichever burning app you use to create as many copies as you need, after PTE5 has created the files.RegardsGeoff Quote

JEB Posted June 24, 2007 Report Posted June 24, 2007 Sorry for my ignorance but this has been a bit of a minefield for me in the past so may I ask a supplementary question? Is it not possible to make multi copies with PTE? My reason for asking is that I use PTE to burn single copies and it works great for me.I do not presently have Nero or any other burning software on my machine, as up till recently I have not seen the need.As XP can write to DVD’s could it not do the job?Sorry for barging in on this topic.John Quote
stonemason Posted June 24, 2007 Report Posted June 24, 2007 Hi JohnTo the best of my knowlege PTE5 can only burn one copy. I would be reluctant to advise using windows to burn DVD's, much better to use specialist burning software if you can such as Nero, or a freeware application.Geoff Quote
Ronniebootwest Posted June 24, 2007 Report Posted June 24, 2007 I only get 'as good as the original' copies of a DVD by using an external DVD Copier such as the one available from Storedigital.Have a look here: DVD CopierRon Quote
JEB Posted June 24, 2007 Report Posted June 24, 2007 Thanks for your replies.Geoff,I will take on board what you say and probably go for Nero as from what I can see it has a good reputation, as do others. However before I take the plunge and as my need to burn more than one copy is slight, are there any less costly options available that people would recommend? I will purchase Nero 7 if I have to but it appears to have a lot of bells and whistles that (in my ignorance) I don’t think I need. When I think of products like IrfanView and Audacity I wonder whether I should, for my needs, be looking at something else.Ron,Thanks………..but no thanks! A bit OTT for me!ThanksJohn Quote
Lin Evans Posted June 24, 2007 Report Posted June 24, 2007 Hi John,There are many solutions. The one I use is $29.95 U.S. and works perfectly. It's called CopyToDVD. Here's a link:http://www.vso-software.fr/products/copytodvd/copytodvd.phpLinThanks for your replies.Geoff,I will take on board what you say and probably go for Nero as from what I can see it has a good reputation, as do others.
