bethh
I know zyderco just asked this question but I don't think it was answered sufficiently. I always make my slide shows to enable the user to manually change from one slide to the next using the mouse and disabled the automatic transition aspect (with the older version). The way you used to keep it from changing automatically was to set the transition between slides to 0 and that did the trick. That no longer seems to be the case. I have tried everything. Please advise on exactly how to make the show stop automatically transitioning to the next slide and allow the user to manually control it. Thank you so much. Peter S
Beth,It's a bit hard to add to what Lin has already said. The only thing that might not be clear is that (as far as I am aware) you can't have every slide on screen for an infinite time. There must be a transition after some time interval but if you never want the viewer to see it automatically you have to make the time for each slide very long. So set your time interval in Project Options Main tab to several minutes and then allow the viewer to use Pg Up Pg Dwn keys or set up the navigation bar as Lin described.Kind RegardsPeter
Lin Evans
Hi Beth,Have you tried a show with the Navigation bar? It's actually very simple. You have a "pause" button which looks like two vertical lines. When that button is in that state, the slideshow will automatically advance to the next slide after whichever time you have designated. But you can also manually advance it, manually go backward a slide at a time, jump to the first slide or "exit" if you have added the "exit" as a button from the menu of navigation bar choices. However, if you click on this "Pause" key, it changes to a forward arrow. In that state the slide presently displayed will not advance nor will any other slide you manually advance to or go back to. This is essentially then a fully manual slideshow as long as this button is not clicked on again. It doesn't matter how much time is alloted to each slide as long as this button is not in the default condition.Best regards,LinI know zyderco just asked this question but I don't think it was answered sufficiently. alrobin
..... Guest Techman1
Beth,As this thread already shows, there are several ways to do this. The old version (pre-V5), you only had to set the duration of the slide to Zero (0) and it would sit there forever. On version 5, any of the methods mentioned here work fine. On my manual shows (proofs), I had typically just set the duration to 1000 seconds and then add the Navigation bar along with comments showing the file name. I also turn off any transitions for the manual slideshow.I just tried Al's method (which I hadn't thought about doing - Thanks AL) and it works perfectly. You can select all images at once and then just update as Al suggests and every slide is then changed. Very quick! Both methods work well.Just an FYI (For Your Information), I typically run the slideshow of my photos and after it completes it calls up a menu to either run the slideshow again, run my manual show, visit my website, send me an email, etc. Typically my clients run the slideshow a few times, then run the manual show. This way my clients are ready to order immediately! Woo-who!!!! Regards,Fred
