Hemjr Posted September 13, 2007 Report Posted September 13, 2007 I just ran a virus scan of my computer with the free version of AVG by Grisoft which had been updated to the last version of updates. It has deleted 10 of my slide shows, most of which have been downloaded from the forum or Beechbrook. It says they had Trojan Horse BackDoor Hupigon2.mul.I had learned my lesson and had all of my slide shows saved on an external hard drive, so it isn't so bad. But some people out there are in danger of losing shows they may not want to lose. This has happened in the past and I feel these are also false positives. Someone had a contact from Grisoft and was successful in getting them to correct it. Hope they can get it straight.Howard Quote

Igor Posted September 14, 2007 Report Posted September 14, 2007 AVG mistakenly marked EXE files created with old version 4.40 as a virus. Of course, no viruses there.I'll contact to AVG to ask them fix this problem. Quote
Igor Posted September 14, 2007 Report Posted September 14, 2007 I just sent email to Grisoft company (AVG). Quote

Igor Posted September 17, 2007 Report Posted September 17, 2007 A reply from GriSoft (AVG Antivirus). The problem fully solved now.Dear Sir/Madam,Thank you for your email. Please accept our apologizes for any inconvenience caused. In aprevious version of AVG virus base could occur a heuristic false onseveral files. This mean that detected file was reported asinfected, although it is clean. The problems were fixed in the newlyreleased virus base update. Please update your AVG, which shouldsolve the issue and the file should not be detected.Thank you for your cooperation and understanding. Best regards, Tomas Roubal AVG Technical Support Quote
