Saving Jpegs

Recent talk of Jpegs expanding in memory has got me wondering if I'm saving my files correctly in Photoshop Elements.

Is it better for slideshows to save the file as 'save as' or 'save for web'?

What I have been doing is setting aspect ratio for either computer screen (1024x 768) or DVD (1280x720 I know that's a bit high but future proofing my show for HD and I read somewhere that DVD will work well at this).

I have been saving the files as 'Save for web'. On my computer screen and DVD I'm pleased with the results.

But here is my questions

1. Will that just save a file for a web site that won't expand in memory and hence in HD will not be very good?

2. Would I be better saving it as 'Save as' Jpeg Quality 7.

If anybody knows the answers maybe they could post it thanks

David

Saving for the web will always reduce the quality of your images. Save As jpeg quality 7 is much better so you are doing it OK at the moment.

I am in the process of making a pdf tutorial on the 'best way of saving jpeg images' Keep watching my web site and you will find it there soon.
