Severn Bore
HiI have read that the Joint Expert Photo Group has decreed that Microsoft's own version of the JPEG is to be called a JPEG XR. I wondered if anyone could shed any light on this format, ie whether it is a viable and improved replacement for the oridinary JPEG format and whether it can be widely used with various editing and viewing programs. The specifications seem good, but I am reluctant to follow this route if it is likely to lead nowhere. I wondered if anyone had any experience of this format and/or had any views on the matter. I also wonder whether the format would be compatible with PtoE?
