Tomuk Posted July 10, 2008 Report Posted July 10, 2008 Hi! Everyone,A week or so ago I promised to make a video tutorial (using Photoshop) on how I selected the penny-farthing cut out for my sequence “Stepping back in Time”.I have now completed it and the link is below, please don’t expect to much as I’m not very good at this Tutorial business. I hope you can follow it, but if not you can always contact me.I have also provided a link to a tutorial on one of the methods I use for producing shadows, please have a look and give me feed back if you found them useful and easy to follow. Here’s the links…..Selection http://www.mediafire.com/?mnbnyowusld Shadow http://www.mediafire.com/?vjutcot1jn2 Quote
jfa Posted July 11, 2008 Report Posted July 11, 2008 Thanks for the very informative and useful tutorials Tom, much appreciated and well worth the download.I had to download the TSCC.exe file from here:http://www.techsmith.com/download/codecs.aspto make the video run, I thought I had all the codex etc I would ever need loaded. Link enclosed in-case anyone else has a problem. Error message was "cannot find 'vids:tscc' decompressor"Just a small hint for the future Tom the volume was very low on playback, maybe a little more on record next time. Then again it may be my ageing hearing going out the door. JEB Posted July 12, 2008 Report Posted July 12, 2008 Hi Tom,Firstly, thank you for all the time you have taken to produce and make available these two tutorials. I find them both very enlightening. You are clearly a man with incredible patience. I refer specifically to the selection process you adopted which gave such a wonderful result in your show.I have to say I like your delivery in the tutorials. Your easy and relaxed presentation style makes it all sound very simple. However I suspect the secret is to a large extent, as ever, in the quality of the original image and specifically in working with a high resolution image.I also had the problems some folks are having in opening the tutorials, which I suspect is why you have had so few replies to date. I could not open them with Windows Media Player (still images no audio) or Quick Time (caused PC to freeze), however Real Player did open them. A free programme somebody mentioned recently on this wonderful forum, DivX Player, also opened them.I hope this information helps you and others get access to these great tutorials.RegardsJohn Quote

John & Ken,Thanks for your kind words. As to the codec problem, I myself suffered form this at the beginning But Lin Evens soon solved it for me by recommending a Video/Audio player called VLC, you can download it free of charge from the Internet, and as Lin said, I have not been able to find an audio or video file it won't open and play.As Lin is our resident expert on all things Video I'm sure he will be only to pleased to help with any problems you may encounter. As other members of this forum suggested, I have now consigned Windows Media Player to the recycle bin where it belongs.Tom. Ken Cox Posted July 13, 2008 Report Posted July 13, 2008 Tom"I have now consigned Windows Media Player to the recycle bin where it belongs."what is going to be your default player when you make an exe -- what program is p2e going to look for?ken Quote
fh1805 Posted July 13, 2008 Report Posted July 13, 2008 Ken, don't confuse the poor fellow! An exe file runs in its own window and doesn't require any "player" software. Quote
Ken Cox Posted July 13, 2008 Report Posted July 13, 2008 PTE LOOKS FOR WMP TO TEST THE FUNCTION -- for a preset time or has that feature been deleted?ken Quote

Tomuk Posted July 14, 2008 Author Report Posted July 14, 2008 RalphThanks for your hard work, I myself have created DVDs from AVi tutorials in the past, (also using Video builder), I think the problem is with the none standardization of video cocec, while while different software providers are using their own we will always have this problem.Tom.
