Tomuk Posted August 15, 2008 Report Posted August 15, 2008 Hi! Everyone,After seeing "BB's" "The Art of Cornwall" I couldn't wait to get into Photoshop and have a Go.As we have just got back from a short break in Venice (and Produced a Sequence of the city), I thought I would torture an image or so and this is what transpired, if any of you have suggestions for improvement, don't be shy.it's a Mediafire link:- http://www.mediafire.com/?tkfy2xgoo7aAnd the Link to the Original Sequence.http://www.mediafire.com/?mh0a7kfmfdtHave fun.Tom Quote
JEB Posted August 16, 2008 Report Posted August 16, 2008 Hi Tom,I like both your shows. Anything about Venice is always of interest to me. Love the place!Tell me, how do you apply the paint effect? I presume you are using one or perhaps more of the PS filters. I had a play to try to create the same sort of effect last night but got nowhere near! A couple of clues would be appreciated.RegardsJohn Quote

The popular piece from The Four Seasons is what I was thinking of, thought I had it but can't find it in my files. I have however found a couple of others, If you PM your email address I'll let you have copies.Regards Yachtsman1 Quote

Just to keep you in the frame. I was, when I asked the question, sure I had asked it before but could not recall when? It's an age thing!! As it turned out I had some time back purchased Barry's DVD but had done nothing about getting Alien Skins software. I downloaded a trial version of that at the week-end and have had a play after watching the DVD. I have come to the conclusion that I can achieve what I want at this stage with PS filters so will not proceed with AlienSkins at this stage. Thank you for spurring me into action.RegardsJohn Quote

jfa Posted August 19, 2008 Report Posted August 19, 2008 Both of your presentations were interesting and enjoyable Tom, thanks for allowing us to see them. This is a city I haven't visited as yet but intend to, your photographs have made me think it should be soon.I found that seeing the originals and then the digitally enhanced versions was particularly interesting, you obtained some very creative and in some, not all, cases I think improved images. My normal method of viewing shows posted here is to download and view them. forming my opinions on them. before reading any comments posted by others. This was the case here and I do agree with Yachtsman1 on the music. I felt I was in Vienna rather than Venice with the music of Strauss. If Vivaldi is not to your taste perhaps some other Italian composer would be a better choice. Quote
walter.sk Posted September 2, 2008 Report Posted September 2, 2008 Strauss or Vivaldi--Doesn't matter to me. I really enjoyed yur very impressionistic, painterly Textures of Venice. Your sensitivity to the visual qualities and the music transcended the national origins of the music, in my opinion. Great job! Quote
