LOL - probably! But they actually have a "membrane" which covers the eye rather than closing eyelids. It's not very "photogenic" and bird photographers frequently pull their hair when their "best" shot ends up with a bird in such a condition. So my hawk model decided to keep her eye open even with the "surprise" of the lightning strike. Nice of her, eh?
