How to perform a PTE clean upgrade ?

Hi,

Sorry, but I could not find the answer through the forum.

What is your recommendation to perform a clean upgrade of PTE on my PC : should I remove completely the previous version, or just install over the previous one ?

keep your 4.48/9 and just install the latest 5 over your existing 5

it will go in a new folder so remeber to update your shortcuts

Version 5.5 will not be installed over 5.1. They can coexist, as well.

my understanding of "to install a new version over an old one" is the following: to make an update by installing the new SW while replacing/updating the old one. Correct me if I'm wrong!

It is my understanding '

WITH VER 5 IT IS set by default to go to a different folder and the last version stays-- if the person wants to delete the "old" that is his option - but in my opinion that is not wise if they are not sure if the last install is going to be totally backwards compatible.

i should have been more clear in my initial reply as to the way ver 5 installs -- as you said they can coexist
