How to Save Slide List?

Of course,

Click on "File" then "Create backup in zip" and your entire PTE project is zipped into a file containing not only all the slides but all the instructions (PTE file), to recreate the transitions, animations, music, sound, etc.

Best regards,

Lin

I want to be able to save the slide list from a project, in order, so that I can update the list when I need to add new slides without having to start all over again. Is that possible?

Hi Eleanor,

No, not the same as all. It saves all the "raw material" for you. The PTE file, images, music, etc., are saved in a zip file. This zip file can then be moved from folder to folder, to another system, etc., and it contains all the code to immediately recreate the existing show. You can just unzip it and extract all the original images and codes which are ready to edit, add new slides, whatever.

The PTE file holds all the code to create the slideshow so when you open it at a later date you will always have everything stored in one zipped file to allow you to simply re-create or continue on and make changes. Just what you want to do...

Best regards,

Lin

Lin,

Is that the same as Creating the EXE? I would like to be able to go back and add and edit the Slide list after having created one project and then create a new Project without starting all over again. Is that the same thing?

Eleanor,

It sounds to me as though what you want can be achieved by doing File---Save As and giving your project a new name. For example: you already have MyProj1, so you open this into PTE and do File---Save As---MyProj2. You now have two project files, currently identical. You can now work on them totally independently. Any changes you make in one will not be reflected in the other unless you make the same change there as well.

regards,

Peter
