With all this PTE Beta testing going full steam ... Ive been busy making and testing a ScreenPrints utility and unable to join in on the PTE testing. Plus its been awhile since I made any new utilities for PTE and my mind wouldnt take a double testing of betas. :D

I am soon to upload it (day or two ?) ... but thought I pass this message out to all the Photographers that need such a tool and get some activity. Heres some facts :

======================================

ScreenPrints v1.0

A PTE Utility for Photographers who send out their PTE "Proof Shows" to Clients for review and ordering.

This Utility launches your PTE executable.

1-Enables the "Print Screen" Key for Image capture.

2-Creates and saves the Image as (full screen).jpg to C:\ScreenPrints folder.

3-Photo Selection Review of all captured Images.

4-Viewer has Manual/Advance and Return and Auto Mode/Advance

5-Options in Viewer are : Delete Image, Make List of Images, Open Image Folder, Current Name and Image Counter ... and more.

6-Final Page gives you the Photographer, a Message Window to advise Client of what to do with final selected Images and List.

Others Additions include :

Your Logo, Your Email, Your WWW and more.

***NOTE : ScreenPrints is more of a Photographers tool for Proof Slide Shows.

These Shows should not "Fast Speed" and with "Demanding Transistions". The capture module will fail if trying to capture speed and transitions. The PTE Show can be Sync or Manual ... Manual is advised to insure Clients dont get into trouble.

Package includes :

1-ScreenPrints.exe

2-RunShow.ini - your PTE.exe Show, Emai, WWW entries

3-Start.txt - your custom Startup Message

4-PhotoSelections.txt - your custom message and Image List

5-Special Instructions .txt - your custom message and instructions to Client.

6-Logo.bmp - your custom Logo displayed (300x85)

7-Read Me.txt

Total Package : 884.kb zipped ... 943.kb unzipped.

So for those that want to try it Now ! ... I could easily Email you the package until I get to upload it. Just use the forums email and send me your address.

Any comments would be very helpful ... and oh ... its free ;)

Alan,

It may be another day or 2 again ...

If Users PC did not have the Comdlg32.ocx ... the keyboard Print Screen key would not allow the capture module to process.

I believe its corrected now ... but doing further tests.

For those interested :

ScreenPrints v1.0 is uploaded and avaliable at

Beechbrook Cottage Site:

http://beechbrook.com/pte/

A Utility to capture and save screen images of a PTE Show while your viewing it. It saves them to a folder as .jpg's using the keyboard's "Print Screen" key.

This Utility is mainly directed at Photographers that want to distribute their PTE Shows to their clients for photo/image selections. This way you dont have to also send out a separate folder of Images along with your Show ... the Client /User can capture just what photo/images they perfer just by using the Print Screen key.

This utility may have some use & benefit to other PTE users too !

Enjoy

Give it a Spin ...

  • 2 weeks later...

Just a Note :

Soon after more testing ... I will release ScreenPrints v1.5

New Features and changes:

1- Added Zip capabilities - processes and saves zip of remaining Photos/Images all in 1 click of a button - with graphic display while processing.

2-Added Single Image View - allows you to select single image only. Manual rotation and Auto rotation views still remain.

3- Added/changed a few graphical/button enhancements.

4- Tweaked a few processes.

Since I havent heard any issues or comments of the first release ... is there any issues that someone is experiencing ???

If issues exist to some users ... Id like to try and fix them prior to releasing this new v1.5
