targa912 Posted December 5, 2008 Report Posted December 5, 2008 I'm using 5.1. It seems to me that the versions are getting more complicated then I can understand at this point. So it looks like I'll stick with 5.1. Starting a new show and in the past I have used 1024x768. My new Dell monitor is set at 1280x1024. I will be putting this show on dvd for about 15-20 people. So I wont be sure what they have as far as tv output. I did read that 1280x1024 is becoming the standard. So, should I make my images at 1280x1024 or 1024x768 not knowing what people will be using? I won't be doing much animation. Maybe a little p&z but not much. Bob W. Quote
davegee Posted December 5, 2008 Report Posted December 5, 2008 Bob,Use 1024x768 (OR 1280x960 to match your DELL monitor). For those with CRT TVs the aspect ratio is 4:3 same as 1024x768 (OR 1280x960).Those with LCDs will see it with black lines to either side. The DVD/Video resolution will be 720x576 anyway so the resolution won't matter that much. It's the aspect ratio which you have to consider.DaveG Quote
