In my Elements 5 & Canon Photo software, the font style is depicted in the font name. It would simplify selecting alternatives if this could be incorporated in PTE.

Hi Ken

Downloaded the file to my programmes folder, opened the zip & installed. But--------- I don't see how this changes the fonts shown in PTE to their actual shape. I could use the Font Page icon to open the programme and using it to identify what particular font I am thinking to use. But this doesn't do what I asked, IE show the actual font style with the font name.

Eric,

If you type some text into O&A then go to Properties you can outline the text font and use your up and down arrows on't' keyboard to step through the different fonts and see how they look on the screen in real time.

I find that this is a good enough procedure - would you agree?

that program will read all fonts on your system and show you what they look like

ken

Hi Ken

But that doesn't show me how it looks from the PTE comments tab, I have to flick to a second programme :(

Regards Eric

Dave g Will try that tomorrow when I've had a sleep.

Not a bad attempt, look you, at some Yorkshire dialect by an inhabitant of Wales. Well done!

Eric..

Another alternative to view your fonts is "right-clicking" and open the font you wish to see!

The fonts can be found in your windows system directory.

This is just a quick way in seeing the size, font style, etc.

ENJOY,

Bart

Hi Bart

Yes I know there are numerous ways of viewing the styles, inckluding opening ms word, it would just make it easier to see them in PTE comments tab in options. I use elements 5 and am used to being able to view a font without having to resort to looking in other sources.

Hi Dave

Got the picture.

However, I still think the elements5 version is more convenient, enabling you to check multiples of fonts at a glance.
