Guest Yachtsman1
I have been told that the Nikon D300 aspect ration can be varied. I've scoured the specification & asked questions of owners who claim it can be done. Can anyone confirm if it can be set to 4x3 as opposed to the 3x2 standard. It seems to me this would cut out one of the onerous tasks when editing your images for PTE.Yachtsman1
davegee
My D300 is definitely 3:2 only. You are possibly thinking of the D3x which can be set to (I think) 5:4. Pure gimmickry (like video) and not for me! If 5:4 were available at the same pixel count (24Mb) I could see the point. It's like the DX lenses being compatible with the D700 (at reduced pixel count) - what's the point?DaveG
Guest Yachtsman1
Hi I have since received the following reply from Nikon UK"Dear Eric,Thank you for contacting Nikon regarding aspect ratio on D300. Unfortunately I am not entirely sure what option do you refer to. If you mean the 3:2 and 5:4 image proportions, this choice is only available on D3 and D3x cameras. However, it can be very easily replicated with any image manipulation software in the post processing.Never mind, Yachtsman1
