AVI Files created with PTE

When I create an AVI file from a slide show, using the 'Create AVI' option and then attempt to run the resulting AVI, I get a Data Execution Prevention' warning and the program must then be shut down. This has never happened before so I am hoping that one of you experts will know the reason and help me find a way around the problem.

Here is the warning that I get:

Ron,

To get things going, I assume that you are double-clicking on the file in the hope that it will open up in something or other.

Have you tried opening up something or other and pointing it towards your AVI?

Try the prog that Igor recommends - Media Player Classic Homecinema.

Does this warning show up every time (also after reboot), or just sporadically?

You can (temporarily) disable Data Execution Prevention by changing the NoExecute option in C:\boot.ini: NoExecute=AlwaysOff, the default setting is NoExecute=OptIn .

I am a little concerned about disabling the Data Execution Prevention, without first understanding what it actually is. It looks like it must be some kind of virus protector, so disabling it may well cause me more problems and I do not want that do I?

I am sorry to say that (regarding Data Execution Prevention) I am not an expert, either. So, I would make a few tests with different DEP settings, and (if needed) I would contact the WnSoft Service. After each change of DEP settings a reboot should take place, see also here.
