Here is a new kind of animation using a black frame.

It's a very classic presentation and in my mind is very appropriate for black & white pictures.

This is very good, Dom. I was expecting only another frame. Your gallery - or lighting - effect, makes the frame presentation very pleasant and fitting. Thank you also for providing the template.

I can't speak as to how Dom might have done it, but here is a link to a large number of Photoshop Actions for creating mattes and frames. Many of them will create similar beveled mattes and frames.
