smithrg
Hi PTE friends,I created a screensaver, out of curiosity, and now, I don't know how to use it.I have never used this feature of PTE before, and was just interested in trying it.How do I get Windows XP to recognise and use it?This is, I'm sure, a simple and stupid question. Thanks for your interest, Gayland. Lin Evans
Hi Gayland,Just copy the file (filename.scr) to C:\WINDOWS\system32 and it will appear along with all the default (included) screen savers when you open the display tab on the control panel. Choose it as your screen saver, set the desired timing for it to appear as you would with any other screen saver.Best regards,Lin

Thought I new when I started writing, but would be interested if what I've said is correct. Yachtsman1

Lin Evans
Hi Gayland,Ken's approach is actually the easier way unless you have a folder full of scr files. I still live in the DOS world - LOL. By right clicking on the scr file then using Ken's suggestion the scr file will automatically be copied to the proper folder and it also is a shortcut for pulling up both the Control Panel and the Screen Saver Tab.Best regards,Lin
